6 Week Assertiveness Training

Do you avoid conflict? Do you find it hard to stand up for yourself? Do you tend to put other’s needs and feelings first, sometimes to your own detriment? Do you often feel disrespected or like people don’t take you seriously? If the answer is “Yes” to the above, you will benefit from assertiveness training.

What is assertiveness?

There is often the misconception that assertiveness means being aggressive, demanding or steam rolling over people – this can’t be further from the truth. Assertiveness is a skill that allows you to clearly express your needs, opinions and feelings in a firm but gentle manner without infringing on the rights of others. It entails standing up for yourself by teaching others how to treat you in a way that is not condescending nor prescriptive.

What is the training about?

The “6 Week Assertiveness Training for Beginners” is a structured workshop which equips you with practical skills that you can apply in your work context, at home and in your social circles. The training is held over the course of 6 weeks. It consists of 13 hours; the duration of the first session is 3 hours where after the rest of the sessions are 2 hours long. The program is a product of years of research and has been specifically developed to suit your skill level. During the course of the six weeks you receive a workbook with 8 different assertiveness tools and exercises to practice your new found skills.


Where does the training take place?

Upcoming Training Locations and Dates:

2 November – 7 December 2018. Every Friday evening: Vorna Valley, Midrand.
5 November – 10 December 2018. Every Monday evening: Garsfontein, Pretoria East.

**All training will be held after hours**


Medical rates for group sessions apply. Individuals who prefer to claim from the medical aid need to contact the practice to find out what the excess amount of their particular medical aid will be. Cost: R2 700 per course.
